Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice even cut Have been using this mower for a couple of months and beats all the other mowers I have had by far in terms of a smooth even cut. I like the caster front wheels which makes it much easier to maneuver. Mower is really heavy and feels solid - like a commercial grade mower. June 10, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Breaks down constantly We bought 3 gravely mowers this year. Two 52" stand-ons and one 32" walk behind. They break down constantly. Bolts break, decks break, spindles break. Within the first couple of weeks we had several breakdowns and, of course, repair shops have to order the parts. We end up being down for weeks. We also bought a 21" that broke down several times. It took 5 weeks for Gravely to send the parts. Just a miserable experience. Gravely products have cost us a lot of money both because of down time and due to lost clients. Every break down has been due to a faulty part so at least the warranty covers it. August 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Oil Filter The product works as advertised, but the only disappointment is the plastic oil filter adapter / housing. It's flimsy and can brake easily if your not not mechanically savvy. June 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent machine The mower makes a nice cut and the size is perfect for our needs. After a few small adjustments to the braking and drive systems, the unit works excellent and it takes hills easily. June 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by the best brand i have ever owned I currently own five Gravely mowers as well as two other different brands. Gravely has been THE BEST and I wouldn't buy any other brand since owning a Gravely. I am absolutely impressed with the performance and durability of these machines. The ones i currently own are used all day six days a week & it was about two years before i had to make any major repairs. i will be purchasing at least two more within this year. Thank you Gravely for really making a product that stands above the rest. June 5, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Gravely review I bought my gravely last year because I previously owned a cub cadet self propelled mower and I was sick of fixing it all the time. I figured if I spend more money on a brand name like GRAVELY I will get a better product! I couldn't have been more wrong about anything. I've only owned this mower for One summer and I must say I'm not impressed with this machine at all. First the paint started flaking off the deck to expose bare metal/rust???Second the pins holding the height adjustment bolt in place are awful. Last week I was using my mower for the first time of the season and the whole wheel assembly fell off in front and I ended up chewing it up and ruining the newly sharpened blade(I just got it back from being serviced)chewed the wheel and assembly!!!Third thing is that at the beginning of each pass I set the speed and by the end of the row I'm just about running. So if you really want to know if I would buy another one I really would not. Overall I am very unhappy with this machine. June 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lots of power! I purchased the classic LM mower with the front swivel wheels for my Dad. He only has one arm, and is 70 years old. I wanted to make sure that the mower had good power while using the self-propel, and to find a unit that had an easy turn radius. This has gone well beyond our expectations. The first time we used the mover is was easy to start and push through wet Saint Augustine grass that was about 6 inches thick and up a good incline. Due to how wet the grass was I did have to use the side discharge vs the mulching option, but with the grass that thick and wet I was amazed at the power. I did have a learning curve to use the weight of the mover and it being rear wheel drive, meaning I needed to push down on the handle and let the weight of the mower get to the rear vs movers in the past where you needed to push up on the handle and help push through the thick grass, again another plus for my dad. Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Mower Bad Speed Control Bought this mower with the twisty front wheels before the first mow this spring (March). Mowed every week between then and now (August). Love the lock on the front wheel since we have a slight incline in the back yard. Start easily every time. Really packs the bag solid if you let it. Will pull you off your feet with you let it.The only downside is the speed control, we had it adjusted multiple times and just won't stay at one speed. Since we mulch a lot, we just put a bungie cord on it and let it ride at the slowest speed. It would be nice if it had a real speed control. August 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great mower, starts quickly but could use a couple small design changes. We like the mower a lot. It starts easily and runs well even in heavy grass. It is heaver than our previous mower, but if you let the mower do the work, it works great.I would like to see the design on the side discharge/mulching cover changed such that it is easier to make the switch between the two. I also do not like the speed control, it seems flinky for a high end mower. June 7, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Mower This mower will out live me and I will hand down to my son.The only feature that I would change is the speed control. If you want to regulate the speed , its uncomfortable squeezing the handle as your walking . You cant maintain a constant speed unless your clutching the handle bar and speed bar together. You can adjust the speed with the rabbit/turtle throttle. But if you want to run at a slower speed for a moment you will have to try and get use too.Love the mower and the features. I mowed 12 inches of wet grass and mulched and did a great job. This was only because I didnt cut while I shoped for a new mower. Believe it or not I am looking forward to cutting the grass. May 8, 2012

Why Zero-turn?

You can cut your mowing time in half using a zero turn mower instead of a traditional riding lawn tractor. Here are some of the time-saving features of zero turn technology:

Maneuver Around Obstacles

The maneuverability of zero turn mowers allows you to easily mow around trees, flower beds and other obstacles in your yard more easily than with a steering wheel vehicle such as a riding lawn tractor.

Drive at a Faster Speed

Zero turn mowers are designed to cut grass nearly twice as fast as traditional lawn tractors so your straight line mowing speed is improved. A typical lawn tractor cuts at a speed of 3-4 mph while a typical zero turn mower cuts at a speed of 5-8 mph.

Mow in a Single Pass

When you get to the end of your yard and have to turn around and come back, you literally can spin 180 degrees and come straight back without having to back up and cut the strips of grass you would miss when making the turn with a lawn tractor.

Eliminate Follow-Up Trimming

With an unobstructed view of the cutting deck, zero turn mowers make it easy to cut very close to your trim edges – you can nearly eliminate the need to trim hard-to-reach areas with a push mower or a string trimmer after you've finished mowing.

Without a steering wheel, a zero turn machine may look intimidating to drive but most people become comfortable with the way it handles after just a few times mowing their lawn.

Steering a zero turn mower is easy. In fact, it is not that different from steering a shopping cart.

  • How to make left turn with Zero Turn
  • How to make right turn with Zero Turn

  • Forward: Push the handles forward.
  • Reverse: Pull the handles back.
  • Right Turn: Push the left handle forward.
  • Left Turn: Push the right handle forward.
  • Stop: Bring the handles back to neutral.

The key to driving in a straight line is to assure that the same amount of pressure is applied to each lever.
