Gravely attended the 2016 GIE + Expo, held in Louisville, K.y., from Oct. 18-20. Several representatives from the company were on hand to speak with attendees in both the company's indoor booth and outdoor demonstration space.
The show kicked off on Tuesday, Oct. 18 with the annual dealer preview day, when outdoor power equipment dealer have the opportunity to walk the show floor before it opens. In the Gravely booth, Gravely dealers had the chance to win one of three iPads and enjoyed a cocktail hour with beverages. Ariens Company excutives were also on hand to mingle with attendees and show the brand's new line of revamped equipment.
On Wednesday, the show officially opened to record crowds. Inside the Gravely booth, the buzz was centered around the brand's new Pro-Turn line of commercial zero-turn mowers. Specifically, there was a lot of interest in the new Pro-Turn 200 and 400 equipped with brand new Yamama EFI engines. In early October, Yamaha and Gravely announced a project that had been in the works for nearly four years when they unveiled Yamaha's first engines for the outdoor power equipment industry. The iconic brand has its hand in countless industries, but its MX V-Twin EFI engines are the company's first attempt into the OPE industry. Yamaha approached Ariens Company several years ago and asked Gravely to be their official launch partner for the project. The company cited Ariens Company's engineering and customer service talent as one of the reasons they went with Gravely to launch the engines.
Also popular at the show were the company's new attachments for the Gravely Pro-QXT two-wheeled tractor. Gravely unveiled four new attachments for MY17: a two-stage snow thrower, 32-inch brush mower, a 36-inch finishing mower and a 48-inch finishing mower. Also new for Gravely in MY17 is the completely re-designed Pro-Walk, featuring more intuitive steering controls , improved erganomics and adjustable handlebars, all of which improve the machines ease-of-use.
For the residential customer, Gravely also unveiled the new Gravely ZT HD at the show. The premium residential zero-turn, which has been a top seller for the brand for several years, received a complete redesign this year and now incorporates many of the features found on Gravely's commercial line of zero-turns. Most notably, the new ZT HD features a 10-gauge welded deck, industry-leading large formed tubular frame rail, Constant Belt Tensioning System, maintenance-free aluminum spindles and custom, plush, high-back seats.
Landscapers who visited the booth on Thursday and Friday were also entered for a chance to win a new Gravely Pro-Turn 100. Details on the winner of that drawing are coming soon.
Gravely's outdoor demonstration areas were once again a big hit, as landscape professionals and dealers visited to demo the company's full line of professional and residential zero-turns. The Atlas JSV utility vehicle demonstration area was also very well-attended, and dealers were able to ride and test the many different features of Gravely's popular job site vehicle.
