What do you get when you put a group of social media influencers, their guests and personnel from a manufacturer of professional landscaping equipment on a small island in Florida? Endless conversation about grass, zero turn lawn mowers, landscaping, hardscaping, family, business models, equipment, and hours of wicked sick drone footage.
Last week, Gravely and its batch of 13 new and returning Gravely Ambassadors converged on Hutchinson Island, Florida to kick off the second annual Gravely Ambassador rally. This event marks the beginning of the new mowing season and gives Gravely personnel and the Gravely Ambassadors an opportunity to meet, share stories, build relationships and tour the AriensCo test facility in Sebring, Florida before taking delivery of their new demo units.
What is the Gravely Ambassador program?
In 2018, Gravely developed a program designed to build closer relationships with well-known professional landscapers from across the country who share their experiences on social media while encouraging and leading others in the industry. Among numerous applicants, only a small handful are chosen to become Gravely Ambassadors based on their ability to produce meaningful content, a desire to grow their online presence, demonstrated industry expertise and the ability to maintain a good relationship with AriensCo.
And though not all of the 2019 Gravely Ambassadors have used Gravely zero turn mowers and landscaping equipment in their businesses, our interest is in their knowledge of professional landscaping and their presence on social media. Our ambition is to not only use their voices to help grow the Gravely brand, but that they also provide honest, unfiltered feedback of the performance of their Gravely demo units in the varying landscape applications they will experience.
The Power of Social Media
It was just 10 years ago that Facebook was nothing more than a sophisticated chatroom. Today, social media has evolved to be one of the most influential communication tools on the planet and is leveraged in every industry from makeup to skim boarding and of course, landscaping. Though few landscapers achieve fame in their day jobs, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook have given the ability for anyone with professional skill, expertise and a good camera to grow their brand, share with others and become well known in their industry.
Meet the 2019 Gravely Ambassadors
Our favorite part of the Gravely Ambassadors is the kickoff event where we get to meet, interact and build relationships with our newest group of ambassadors. This year, we stationed ourselves on Hutchinson Island, Florida, two hours away from the Gravely test site in Sebring Florida. The 2019 Gravely Ambassadors, who come from everywhere between Sequim, Washington and Orlando, Florida, got to spend time with us, demo equipment, and of course, collect content for their social media channels.
