Fabulous mowing machine

4

Just purchased this unit on 8/27/2018. Currently only have 3 hrs on it. I did demo a ZT HD-52 prior to buying. I purchased the ZT HD-60. The demo model did not have the $150 seat-isolation kit. That kit is well worth it. It does smooth the ride out substantially. My yard is not smooth. I mow my yard(4.5) acres and have a few residential yards I mow weekly(.35 acres each x4). I can mow my 4.5 acres in about 2 hrs. It mows very nicely and the cut is much better than my 54" HC John Deere deck. I also did demo a John Deere residential Z-trak prior to buying Gravely. Didn't look at any other brands as I wanted to stick with my current dealer that I have been very happy with.

Greatest mower i've ever owned/used!

5

I really couldn't tell a difference between the HD and the pro-turn. I've never actually owned a mower that could hold up on my hills, The HD handles every slant I've put it on. I'm very impressed, happy, and proud of this machine. I will be a return customer!

Former pro landscaper who loves Gravely

5

I have been a landscaper for the better half of my life at 47 with a bad back I have used exmark scan bobcat to name a few. Gravely is made in America and has top notch quality components that will last forever as long as your maintenance is quality. Maintenance is easy and not a chore to change oil or blade removal for sharpening. I went from a bobcat 48 walk behind to the Gravely zt HD 52 with blower bagger and I could be no happier with my choice. I loved my walk behind but as I have a back injury it has bring me to a rider mower and it is comfortable and I enjoy mowing my lawn again. And in less time.

Didn't make to 30 hours before it broke down

2

We haven't even had this mower for 1 year and it is broke down. My husband went a filled it up with gas and checked the oil and drove it out of the shed for me. I went to start it and nothing happened, the starter had went out. Well that was over 2 weeks ago and we are still waiting for it to be fixed it will be fun trying to load a mower that doesn't run on a trailer to haul it. I would not recommend buying this brand mower unless you have a back-up mower.

Will not recommend this product to my worse enemy.

1

Bad design and low quality equipment for the money... Only 250 hours of service. Replaced 3 belts, replaced a solenoid, replace a voltage regulator and may have to replace the electric clutch. Several problems with the gas supply system. Just finished replacing the mowing deck spring, Gravely SUPPORT a joke.. Totally non existent. They will tell you to call the dealer, The dealer wants your money... Great training tool for mechanics. So far I spent about 50% mowing and 50% fixing this unit..... Run away.... Do not buy this JUNK.

Best sub $6k mower bar none

5

A "Home Run" in a sub $6k mower! We bought ours with the bagger attachment and couldn't be happier with this machine. Great quality of cut wet or dry, very nimble and handles hills and slopes with ease. 0 problems in 326hrs so far. Very comfortable and praised by our crew who calls it "one honey of a mower" We have Exmark Lazer Z's and JD 657's which all cost almost double and the only advantage the high price mowers have is bagger capacity. All and All an excellent mower in this price range

Absolutely Avoid This

1

Great power, and controls. Easy to maintain. I would absolutely avoid this unit at all cost(52 HD). Mine has 33 hrs on it now and has been through 4, yes 4 traction belt springs. The dealer says there is nothing they can do but replace them as they break. I have actually purchased a spare spring so I don't have to slowly tow the mower out of the yard and onto a trailer. Atleast I can finish mowing and then drive it onto the trailer. The dealer stated this is an extremely common problem. The left caster pivot bearing has failed as well now, causing the tire to drag on the deck/frame, dealer also states this is a common problem. This is absolutely unacceptable for a 5-6k mower.

7 year review at 240 hours

3

Purchased new in 2012. Now has 240 hrs on it. So far we have replaced, starter solenoid, 1 blade spindle, drive pully assembly and belt, and a PTO switch. these all happened just as the warranty went out and has happened at different times. Our Lawns are smooth and easy to cut, mower is garage kept and perfectly maintained. Kawasaki Engine and quality of cut is perfect and no issues. I feel like these repairs are excessive for the hours on the mower. Gravely needs to step up to better parts and greasable spindles. Also design for less blowout at front of the deck

Defective hydro idler tension spring

1

Lawn maintenance solo operator with 40 residential accounts. I broke two hydro idler tension springs within first 6 weeks of purchase. My dealer told me Gravely informed them this spring was defective. I lost $250 in tow bill to have mower towed to dealer and more lost revenue from second spring failure. Gravely rep was sympathetic but refused to reimburse me for $250 tow bill. Didn't get a replacement spring for a month. Gravely is not service oriented and doesn't care about the "little guys" like me. Will never buy a Gravely product again.

I would buy this mower again.

I got a great deal on a new 2015 model and I love it. It cuts so fast it's a blast to mow. The only problem I have with it is that the deck is so flimsy. I noticed the paint cracking in a few places but didn't even think it was the deck itself until the right spindle fell out on the ground. Had it welded back up and my welding guy had to weld all the way around the center spindle and 3/4 around the left spindle and in about 6 other spots. 5 year warranty on the deck? We'll see.

Shouldn't have waited...

5

2.5 hours, best lawn purchase I've ever made. I cut about 3/4 acre of St Augustine. I've owned a JD 155c and a toro ZT, those two mowers together can't do what this mower does. I'll come back once I've put some time on it, for now don't hesitate to buy this mower.

Gravely ZT HD 48 built to last !

5

Decided to purchase a zero turn to replace a cub tractor that I was never really happy with. Looked at 6 different manufactures in this price range and after comparing warranty, construction and engines felt the Gravely HD 48 definitely stood out from the rest. This mower has reduced my cutting time by nearly half ! My yard is far from being a manicured golf course . The HD 48 with it's larger tires and heavy duty construction handles my uneven terrain flawlessly without out scalping. The number of settings for deck hight definitely help with this . If you're looking for a zero turn with quality construction, that if maintained properly should last decades definitely check out Gravely. I'm glad I did !

2017 ZT HD 44

5

I was in the market earlier this year for my first ZT mower for my 3.5 acre residential lot. My property is "rugged" to say the least - lots of elevation changes, trees, rocks, and rough areas. Not the manicured golf course-like property they typically show in tractor ads. After months of research and visits to local dealers, my wife and were about to pull the trigger on a Hustler Raptor SD. On a last-minute lark, we visited a dealer at a neighboring town that carried Gravely, Ariens, Toro, and Ferris, non of which we had looked at before. After several questions, the dealer pointed us at the new 2017 Gravely HD. This was a big step up feature-wise from the Raptor SD - more comparable to the Hustler Fastrak, but about $600 less expensive than the Fastrak promotion that was going on at the time. Kawasaki engine, very heavy duty frame, 10 gauge deck, 22x10 drive tires, ROPS capable, HydroGear 3100 commercial transmission. We were sold, adding a promotional package that included ROPS, lights, and hitch for another $200. I have not been using this unit for very long, so cannot speak to long-term reliability/durability. Howerver, it has more than exceeded my expectations performance-wise. Outstanding speed, power, traction, maneuverability, and cut quality. I am very impressed. I am really surprised these things are not more popular than they are, given I don't see much on the market that competes feature and reputation-wise with this particular model at this price point. One note of caution. While the ROPS provides an added layer of protection (I have a 10' deep dry creek that runs across the front of my property, which I steer clear of), it can also be a hazard in itself. On her first day mowing my wife caught the roll bar on an overhanging tree branch, and almost sent the unit over backwards. We now mow all the open areas of our property with ROPS and seatbelt in place, and then lower the roll bar to mow under low hanging trees.

Dissapointed

2

I cut about 5-6 yards for close friends and family for extra income. I purchased this mower because it was built like a commercial mower without the huge price tag (or so I thought). I bought it new off the showroom floor in March of 2016. It now does not even have 100 hours on it and so far I have had to replace the throttle cable (it kept sticking), a leaky valve cover gasket, the deck belt consistently fell off when it had less than 10 hours on it. And the dealer says they have leveled my deck twice, but it still sits noticeably higher in the front than in the back. I would choose any other brand next time for the money spent (almost $6k).

2017 gravely zt hd 52

5

I just purchased the new 2017 gravely ZT HD 52 with the Kawasaki engine and wow it's a really nice mower.really like the new style and the larger tires and comfortable seat.the mower is built really well.strong frame and deck as well.I looked it over very well before I made my decision over other brands and gravely just had what I was really looking for in mower.like the 3 year no hour limit warranty.only grip I'd say about it is the new gas tank.no big deal but it's mounted under the seat and no actual gauge just a window view right below the front part of the seat and it's hard to tell how much gas is in it.but other than that gravely hit a home run with the new 2017 line up.I would definitely recommend it to anyone.thanks gravely!

Awesome

I've got a 2 1/2 acre yard that is rough! A lot of trees, hilly, muddy, not stuff you want to mow. I was using a John deer tractor and the front axle broke in half. I was looking at a Toro time utter for the price, but after the John deer broke in half I decided I needed a beefier model rather than replace the mower in 2 years. I have 20 hours on it and it has been awesome. Cut my time 75 percent between mowing faster (and much higher quality) and cutting way down on my weed eating. My first mow should have been a commercial for gravely. A lot of brush and hills. No problems.
